Volunteering for NEBA comes in 2 forms.
All parents and families are encouraged to support their team by volunteering as jersey parents, scorekeepers, timekeepers, etc. See your coach for how you can support your team.
NEBA also expects a volunteer commitment to the organization. These volunteer commitments help us to raise funds in order to keep our program fees down, and to help run the program. Approximately 40% of our program is funded by these volunteer commitments.
Families of 11U-18U players are required to complete one volunteer commitment per family for the NEBA organization. This is outside of volunteer activities for your child’s team. The volunteer opportunities are listed below.
A $200 volunteer fee will be added to your account at registration. If you sign up for a volunteer commitment at registration, this charge will be credited.
It is your responsibility to replace yourself if you cannot make the commitment you signed up for. If you do not attend or arrange for your replacement, your account will be charged the volunteer fee.

North East basketball holds bingos each year at Kensington Bingo Hall 12538-132 Avenue from 4:45 p.m. - 9:30 p.m.
Bingo Volunteers must be 18 years of age (exception may be made for special circumstances by contacting the executive director prior to attending the bingo)
Please remember to keep moving, and turn your cell phone off. You will receive a $10 meal credit.
If you cannot work the bingo you have chosen, it is your responsibility to find another person to cover your shift, and to inform the volunteer coordinator of who will cover your shift. It is NOT NEBA's responsibility to find your replacement.
Bingo Dates for the Upcoming 2023-24 Season:
EYBA Casinso will be held at the Startlight Casino on August 19-20, 2023. 2 Volunteers are required.
NEBA Casino will be held at Century Casino on March 23-24, 2024. Approximately 40 volunteers are required.
Head Coaches are exempt from the volunteer commitment, provided they have completed the NEBA requirements for coaching (such as completed criminal record checks or coaching clinics).
Assistant coaches are expected to sign up for a volunteer commitment, and will be released the commitment only if there are enough volunteers to fill our bingos and casinos (provided they have completed the NEBA requirements).
